Trump Rebuffs Pursuing Another Presidential Bid
When correspondent Norah O'Donnell pressed the sitting US President on whether he'd attempt another campaign four years from now, Trump responded firmly: "I don't even think about it. I will tell you, a lotta people want me to run."
O'Donnell then probed about potential successors, specifically naming Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as possibilities. Trump expressed support for both officials.
"I like so many people. We have an unbelievable bench. We could run two people together. We have a great bench. So I don't want to start talking about elections. It's too early," the president stated.
Under the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution, presidents are constitutionally barred from holding office beyond two terms.
